ETC 6083 O2 Trim

ETC 6083 O2 Trim

The ETC6083 Oxygen Probe is a precision engineered sensor that, when paired with the ETC6081 Oxygen Trim Interface, delivers fast responses, high accuracy, oxygen measurement to drive optimum combustion control across a wide range of industrial and commercial burner applications.

Product specifics

The ETC6083 is a purpose-built oxygen designed to work in tandem with the ETC6081 Oxygen Trim Interface, forming the sensing heart of a complete combustion optimization solution.

Built around a stainless-steel sensor assembly, the ETC6083 is engineered for reliability in demanding environments, the design contains no moving parts and requires no pumped reference air, reducing points of failure and simplifying long-term maintenance.

A 6-micron sintered stainless-steel filter protects the sensing element from particulates and contaminants, helping to preserve measurement accuracy and extend service life even in harsh operating conditions.

In addition to oxygen sensing, the probe incorporates a Type-K thermocouple for flue-gas temperature measurement, covering a range of 0–540°C (with a maximum of 600°C) and delivering accuracy to within ±2°C. The oxygen sensor itself operates at a stable 820°C ± 3°C and provides oxygen-measurement accuracy of ±1%, ensuring the data feeding into the trim system is both precise and dependable.

To suit a variety of installations, the ETC6083 is available in multiple insertion lengths, accommodating flue diameters from 0.3 m up to 4.0 m. This flexibility, combined with its rugged construction, makes the probe well-suited to harsh environments and continuously modulating burner applications, where consistent, real-time feedback is essential to maintaining efficient combustion.

Data captured by the probe is transmitted to the ETC6000 controller via the ETC6081 interface, where it is used to dynamically adjust air and fuel valves in order to maintain the target oxygen level. This closed-loop control automatically compensates for load changes and environmental variations, ensuring combustion remains optimized under fluctuating operating conditions. The ETC6081 interface further supports automatic trim setup, significantly reducing commissioning time, and allows operators to configure oxygen and temperature alarm limits, enhancing both safety and diagnostic capability.

With proper maintenance — including regular filter replacement, correct calibration, and fuel-appropriate servicing — the ETC6083 probe is built to provide a long and reliable operational life. For operators and OEMs alike, the combined ETC6083 and ETC6081 system delivers tangible performance benefits: improved combustion efficiency, reduced fuel consumption (often by up to 3.5%), and lower CO₂ and NOₓ emissions. Cleaner combustion also results in less soot build-up and fewer tube cleanings, reducing overall maintenance demands, while enhanced remote-diagnostic capability supports proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.

Altogether, the ETC6083 probe stands as a critical enabler of the ETC6081 Oxygen Trim system’s performance, providing the accurate, real-time data needed to optimize fuel:air ratios, reduce operating costs, and support compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
