The Fireye MicroM Series is a compact, microprocessor-based, modular burner management system designed to provide automatic ignition and continuous flame monitoring for commercial heating and process equipment, regardless of fuel type. The system offers significant advantages, including the elimination of discrete components traditionally used for timing functions, providing a more reliable and efficient solution for industrial applications.
Programmer and Amplifier Modules for MicroM Control
The Fireye MicroM control is compatible with a wide range of programmer and amplifier modules, each offering specific features to optimize combustion control and ensure safety. These modules include:
Programmer Modules Design: All modules feature a plug-in design for easy installation. Modules in the MEP230, MEP300, MEP500, and MEP600 series include dipswitches to adjust parameters like purge timing, pilot trial for ignition (PTFI) timing, air flow proven, post-purge, and recycle or non-recycle operation. The MEP397 and MEP696/ MEP697 modules also offer additional features, such as a "check-run" switch for testing pilot size and stabilization.
Advanced MicroM Technology: The MicroM control system uses microprocessor-based technology to replace traditional discrete components. This provides enhanced reliability with features such as:
Flame Failure Response Time (FFRT): FFRT is determined by the selected amplifier module, and real-time flame signal measurement is possible through test jacks on the amplifier module.
Safety Features: The MEP696 and MEP697 programmer modules provide early spark termination followed by a pilot proving period, ensuring that spark generated by a maladjusted pilot and spark assembly is not mistakenly detected. The MEP437 provides similar safety features by terminating spark early and verifying pilot ignition to avoid the detection of unwanted sparks from a maladjusted pilot. For safe operation, the air flow switch connected between terminals 7 and 6 must close within 10 seconds after the start of a cycle.
Fireye’s MicroM Series and its associated programmer and amplifier modules are ideal for burner management systems, industrial furnaces, boilers, power generation, and other applications requiring precise flame monitoring and safe combustion control.
